Seonyudo Park?
At Seonyudo Park, there are high and low forked paths; along them, one can find various theme spaces. The paths can be divided into two: the stroll path over the hill with the view of Hangang(River) and Seoul, and the connecting path among the various gardens, offering sunshine, wind, sky and plants.
The water from the water purification plant rests briefly, passing reed waterway, entering aquatic plants garden and Garden of Transition. Various aquatic plants can be observed. Protecting aquatic plants is protecting the natural ecosystem. The existing structure of the purification plant has been saved most intact at the Garden of Transition. The contrast of the new life against the aging structure sets a stage.
The water running through the gardens and water falls all goes back to the tank and starts a new cycle. One can realize the impotance of life and water.
Seonyugyo Story
The footbridge Seonyugyo connects Yang Pyung Dong and Seonyudo Park. It was built as the joint project celebrating the new millennium by the year 2000 French Committee and the metropolitan city of Seoul. The rainbowshaped bridge crosses the river ever so swiftly.
The initial design of the bridge was conceived by the French designer, Rudy Ricciotti, and the City of Seoul carried out the construction. The arch-shaped bridge transverses 120m across the Hangang(River). It is made of the new material, the super strong concrete. It has shaped section, light and thin. The projection lighting not only enhances the form of the bridge but also stages the reflection of light on the river surface.
The lookout point is where Seonyudo Park and Seonyugyo meet. It has large space for rest and observation. One can see Seonyudo and natural grassland underneath, Hangang(River) and World Cup Park, and the panoramic view of Seoul.
